Second and third degree sunburns are considered as a serious attack when considered with primary sunburns. The primary are easily curable since they do not affect the interior layers of skin but secondary sunburns destroy cells up to 2 to 3 inches. These areas are more supportive for infection to occur more easily and hence microbes can penetrate in to your body through these openings. Since the depth is very large all the fluid content will dry easily and hence giddiness will also accompany along with the burns. The best way to identify the type of sunburn is through the presence or absence of blisters. If blisters are not there then it is only primary and small size and small numbers of blisters denote the secondary and large amount of blisters and blisters of size greater than one inch indicates it is third degree sunburns. Second degree sunburns will cause shrinkage in the skin and will make the person to appear like an aged one. If proper treatment is not provided then there are more chances for acquiring skin cancer.

Treatment will be given based on the degree of sunburn. In order to recover at a quick rate you need to consider the following facts. Keep your skin cool by applying proper lotions or herbal juices, then in order to keep it moist drink large amount of water and tale fruits and vegetables in large amount. Leave blisters intact and never scratch them while it irritates take pain reliever if necessary.
